Now we have been asked, why candles? Well there is a lovely story as to that..

When the podcast Aloreing was created during the middle of the chaos of the pandemic Ryan & Kimmy wanted to find ways to make the show feel like an escape from the day to day chaos of the uncertainty and lock down. That being said, they worked hard to create a podcast with background sound effects to make it feel as if you are sitting around the campfire with them. But to them, this wasn’t enough! 

Ryan came up with the great idea a month into podcasting about creating an exclusive Aloreing themed candle that way people listening will feel like they are listening to us around a campfire and enjoy the scents of the mystical outdoors all while from the comfort of their own home! And two years later this dream became a reality!

Now whats a dream without a little challenge?

We wanted to create these lovely candles but at the same time we had no idea where to start! At first we were thinking of one single Aloreing Campsite candle and maybe seeing if we could work with a cryptid or folklore candle maker in creating them. We reached out to many talented candle makers from Noelle at Mothman Candle Co to the creator of Folklore and Flame and in talking with them we realized how what we were wanting to accomplish would be extremely difficult, especially since all the artists we found were on the eastern side of the us. Plus, we are a very small indie podcast, so we didn’t have the funds to place a major order up front without any idea if these would sell. 

That’s when the owner of Kelly H Creations told us she would be able to help make our dream come true!

The owner of Kelly H Creations, which happens to be Kimmy’s mother, has been making and selling soaps, bathbombs and self care products for the last few years. Now, you may be asking why they didn’t ask her first? Well it’s all in timing! Kelly has spent the last year learning the ins and outs of candle making from what wick to use, how to prevent tunneling, the importance of good candle wax, and how to have something safe for a home. That being said, she would only occasionally sell candles because she wanted to get something perfected before mass producing. And as if pre-written in the legends of old, Kimmy told her mother about how the candle thing wasn’t going to work out and she said that she got her candles down and would love to be part of this project!

So the Aloreing gang backed up and visited a small southern Utah studio and spent a few days working on these candle creations! Kelly had an amazing creation of scents, wicks, and jars to pick from. We let her know we are wanting to do something with a magical forest scent and put it in some type of mason jar so it gives off Aloreing Campground Vibes. We spent all day testing and sampling different scents and ended up coming up with not just one, but 3 scents! Since we were so torn between the 3 of them, Ryan suggested we created a candle for each one. Ryan’s would be Cryptid Campsite, Kimmy’s would be Folklore Campsite, and the amazing forest candle Kelly created would be sasquatch inspired. Now with the sample candles made and in hand Kimmy created a polaroid themed label and the most adorable packaging.  Plus, she created some adorable videos for marketing as well.
